Fernando José Pereira is a Portuguese artist born in Porto in 1961. He graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Porto and finished his studies with a PhD in Fine Arts. He currently is a researcher at the Center for the Study of Language and Communication and Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts  at the University of Porto. He is founder of ‘Virose’ an interdisciplinary non-profit organisation dedicated to art and media technology (www.virose.pt), which he is co-directing since 1997. He works and lives in Oporto, Portugal.
