Christian Niccoli was born in 1976 in South Tyrol, Italy. Since 2002, after his studies at the Academie of Arts in Florence, Milan, and Vienna, he lives and works in Berlin.

In 2005 he was a fellow at Antonio Ratti Foundation in Como, Italy and at Werkleitz Gesellschaft e.V. – Centre for Art and Visual Media, Halle/Saale, Germany. In 2006 he was in the artist  residence program at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella, Italy and until 2009 in the International Studio Program at Künstlerhaus Bethanien.
