Josh Berson is an anthropologist and artist attached to the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. From 2014 through 2016 he directed the computational social arm of Hubbub, a major collaborative research initiative, funded by the Wellcome Trust, with a mandate to explore emerging practices surrounding rest and business. His work asks how intimate behaviors (sleeping, eating, listening) become implicated in phenomena of scale (capitalism, urbanization).
