Hypno Media
Each of the works presented in this programme explores a different communication medium through artistic means. A caleidoscope of media indespensable for modernity unfolds before us: Immer wieder Zukunft strings together West German election slogans, revealing them as empty promises astonishingly void of content. 58 Pages shows an entire newspaper animated page by page by rotoscoping. In Hypno Project an artist presents his theses in front of an authentically hypnotised audience – as if symbolising the apathy with which we take in the media day by day. The found footage film Scope compiles images of radios in feature films, displaying this medium within another medium. Scary Maze synchronises internet streams of children playing computer games, transforming the individuals into a virtual collective. Prim Life addresses the, not long ago, much talked about augmented reality of Second Life by narrating a story about its forgotten avatars.
