This project presents a pair of sneakers that take microblogging one step further, by literally posting your steps on a Twitter account. Messages are comprised of repetitions of the word “tap” and “.” respectively symbolising the wearer’s steps and time in between these. As a critique of microblogging the project automises this activity into ultimately useless personal information. Throughout the duration of transmediale.11 one of the artists will be wearing the Rambler sneakers. The audience can follow this walk via the Rambler-Twitter account on a provided screen. To further reinforce the absence of the shoes, as a piece that belongs outside and has hence escaped the concrete space, an empty white pedestal with the soleprint of the Rambler shoes will be displayed.
