Launch des digitalen Katalogs zusammen mit Vittore Baroni (Kurator, E.O.N. Archive, Viareggio), Tatiana Bazzichelli (Kuratorin, transmediale Festival, Berlin / Researcher, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg), Jonas Frankki (Designer, Telekommunisten Kollektiv, Berlin), MGZ - Mauro Guazzotti (DJ)

Als Teil des bekannten transmediale Festivals für Kunst und digitale Kultur, das im Januar und Februar 2013 im Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin stattfand, betreute Vittore Baroni das Mailart Projekt PNEUMAtic circUS, das mit Hilfe der innovativen Struktur des pneumatischen Postsystems OCTO P7C-1 lief und an dem etwa einhundert Autoren aus sechzehn verschiedenen Nationen beteiligt waren.

OCTOs langen Tentakeln werden Baroni’s Heimatstadt Viareggio am Montag, den 8. Juli 2013  mit der ersten Präsentation des einzigartigen digitalen PNEUMAtic circUS Katalogs im Galerie- und Projektraum Laboratorio 21 erreichen. Dieses besondere Event beinhaltet ein Treffen mit Tatiana Bazzichelli, Kuratorin beim transmediale Festival und Researcher im Bereich der Netzwerk- und vernetzten Kunst, und Jonas Frankki, Mitglied des Berliner Kollektivs der Telekommunisten, welche zusammen mit Raumlaborberlin und reSource transmedial culture berlin (transmediale Festival) Urheber der originellen pneumatischen Plattform sind.

Es werden neue Videos gezeigt werden, und verschiedene lokale und internationale Künstler werden unter Verwendung eines Prototyps von OCTO in kleinem Maßstab eine Serie von kurzen Performances in Szene setzen, welche auf dem Inhalt der pneumatischen Kapseln basieren. Ein für alle offener Workshop, geführt von Tatiana Villani und Manuel Perna, wird den Anwesenden ermöglichen, sofort eigene kreative Nachrichten zu entwerfen und zu übermitteln. Beendet werden wird der Abend mit einem clownischen DJ-Set des nicht zu stoppenden MGZ - Mauro Guazzotti.

Vittore Baroni
Music critic (Rumore magazine) and explorer of the countercultures, he is active since the Seventies in the planetary circuits of Mail Art. He has written essays on aspects of electronic music, contemporary art and of the networking cultures that anticipated the Internet. With Piermario Ciani he has guided in the Eighties the activities of the TRAX multimedia group and has founded in 1996 the publishing house AAA. He lives and works in Viareggio, where with other artists he gave birth in 2004 to the cultural association BAU. vittorebaroni@alice.it

 

Tatiana Bazzichelli
Sociologist of communication and expert in network cultures, hacktivism and net art, she is the author of books focusing on the concept of art as network, such as Networking - La Rete come Arte (Costa & Nolan, 2006 / DARC, 2008) and Networked Disruption: Rethinking Oppositions in Art, Hacktivism and the Business of Social Networking (DARC, 2013). Researcher at the Centre for Digital Cultures of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) and previously at the Faculty of Arts of Aarhus University (Denmark), she is a programme curator at transmediale festival in Berlin, where she directs the project "reSource transmediale cultures berlin". Active in the Italian hacker community since the end of the Nineties, she won an honorary mention in 2007 with the project AHA: Activism-Hacking-Artivism at the Ars Electronica festival.

Jonas Frankki
Designer active in the field of illustration and animation, he is responsible for the graphic identity of the Berlin collective Telekommunisten. Founded by Dmytri Kleiner, the collective reflects on the economic and political consequences related to the use - and abuse - of information technology. The group also produces art projects – the so called technologies of "miscommunication" - that explore the way in which social relations are influenced and modified by the technologies of communication and of the Web.

Mauro Guazzotti - MGZ
Author since the early Eighties of several albums as leader of the experimental noise/industrial band F.A.R.(Final Alternative Relation) and later active with the personal parodistic synth-pop-techno project MGZ, Mauro Guazzotti has written soundtracks (Metabar and Ho fatto un sogno by Giorgio Laveri, In una foto by Giuseppe Baresi and Simonetta Fadda) and music for performance and video installations, working in parallel as DJ and organizer of events.
