Kaciano Gadelha

Kaciano Barbosa Gadelha (Fortaleza, Brazil, 1980-) is PhD candidate in Sociology at International Research Training Group Between Spaces: Movements, Actors and Representations of Globalisation, Latin America Institute, Free University Berlin. His research project’s tittle is: Virtualization of body and sexualities online: gay dating, gender and performativity. His areas of interest are: queer theory, postcolonial theory, gender studies, visual cultures, performance, cybercultures, psychoanalysis, ANT. He got his Bachelor in Psychology (2004) and M.A. in Sociology (2007) at Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in Fortaleza, Brazil, where he worked as Substitute Professor for one year in the Department of Sociology. He has recently been a guest student and researcher at Columbia University (Institute of Latin American Studies –ILAS), New York City, at National Autonomous University of Mexico (Unam) in the Postgraduate Program in Gender Studies (PUEG), México City, and at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), in Brazil, in Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology.
