However, through the use of open source software, hardware hacks and cheaper digital technologies, a new field of possibilities opens for experimentation, micro networks and the democratisation of radio's future. Mathias Coinchon of the European Broadcasting Union and opendigitalradio.org takes workshop participants through a variety of techniques, tricks and tools for opening up radio and developing entirely new systems of broadcasting based on open, shared principles.
