Mark Coté

Mark Coté is a Lecturer in Digital Culture and Society at King’s College London. He has written extensively on social media, the conflation of communicative cultural practices and economic valorisation, and the relationship between the human and technology. He is co-investigator on an AHRC-funded research project to develop tools and apps for hacking smartphones to access metadata and symbolic content in order to create an open access ‘big social data commons’. He is currently writing a related monograph Data Motility: The Life and Labour of the Digital Human in the Age of Big Social Data.
