Robyn Moody (ca) has been selected for the European Media Artist in Residence Exchange, in a joint effort of Werkleitz Media Art Centre Halle and transmediale.

Robyn Moody from Canada has been selected for the European Media Artist in Residence Exchange, in a joint effort of Werkleitz Media Art Centre Halle and transmediale. Move On - New Media Art from Australia, Canada and Europe / EMARE Australia Canada is funded by the European Commission Culture Programme 2013 and the Goethe-Institut.

The residency consists of the realisation of a new media project during a two months residence at the supporting host organisation and the participation at the final exhibition Move On - New Media Art from Australia, Canada and Europe at the Werkleitz festival in October 2015 and transmediale festival in January/February 2015, as well as one passed conference on the media art landscape of Australia and Europe and selection jury at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane in March 2014 and one upcoming conference on the media art landscape of Canada and Europe at the Goethe-Institut Toronto in April 2015.

Canadian artist Robyn Moody has been selected by Werkleitz Media Art Centre Halle and transmediale. He takes a whimsical and multifaceted approach to art making, lately focussed on electronics, mechanics, installation, sound, and sculpture. Often humorous, often strikingly beautiful, and often hiding a dark secret, Moody’s work explores (in whole or in part) the complex relationships between technological advances, human belief and interpretations of the world, and humanity’s relationship with science, politics, and nature.
