Jürgen Neumann is a social entrepreneur with over twenty years experience in consulting, building and initiating social and digital networks. In 2002 he co-founded Freifunk.net, a non-profit, which focuses on spreading knowledge about open, wireless networks.
The supposedly infinite freedom of the Net is a permanent online participation, communication and live switching between real and virtual life. The resulting unspoken fear of turning away from the Network has led to increasingly loud calls for a way out. Face to Facebook deals with questions about privacy in online contexts based on the most iconic of platforms: Facebook. Following the Facebook principle, the artists have built a dating site into which they have imported from a million user profiles, using special software, 250,000, which they then classified, by means of a specially developed facial recognition algorithm, into categories based on features and expressions.
